It has been an honour and a privilege to serve this constituency as an MP and more recently in my capacity as Health Minister. I would especially like to thank the community that has worked so positively with me. It has been a privilege to work with all groups from the voluntary, public and private sector across the constituency. Together we have made a difference for our community in particular in Health, Education and community safety. I am confident that the newly elected Labour Council will continue to build on this good work. Our community demonstrates great diversity and we are an excellent example of how we can work together.
I am also most grateful to all of the constituents that voted for me and wish to express my sincere thanks for their support and encouragement. The result was a close run affair and it is clear that the voters of Brentford & Isleworth constituency will need to be convinced that the change has their best interest at heart.
